WATER THERAPY
Planet earth consists of 75% water and 25% land. Similarly, human body is made of 65% water and 35% of solid material. This shows the importance of water in our life. Water therapy is a super simple, inexpensive and safe method, usable anywhere at home or office conveniently to lead to the road of good health. By drinking proper quantity of plain water at appropriate times, half of the many body diseases can be prevented or controlled. Some people believe that by taking more water, less food will be consumed, which makes the body weaker. It is absolutely a wrong notion. In fact, it is opposite. Drink 3 liters of water every day and avoid medicine, tablets, injections, diagnosis, doctor fees etc. You can never believe before practicing.
Water therapy is not a new thing. Let us all know that ancient Indians termed this therapy as " USHA PAANA CHIKITSA". It is time
tested by many. It is a popular Japanese therapy and also widely advocated by great
Dr. Manthena Satyanarayana in South India and other yoga centres in whole of
India for many years. Furthermore, scientific tests have proven its value. For
old and serious diseases as well as modern illnesses, the water treatment had
been found successful by a Japanese medical society.
Here are some steps and tips to practice water therapy from morning waking up on wards:
v Early morning, after getting up from bed, first go to bathroom to clear your bowel .Then, with empty stomach, without even brushing your teeth (You may wash your mouth with water),drink 1 to 1.5 litres of water i.e. 5 to 6 glasses every morning.
To begin with, one may find it difficult
to drink 1.50 litters of water at one
time, but one will get used to it gradually. Initially, while practicing you
may drink four glasses first and then the balance two glasses after a gap
of 2 minutes.
Those who are old or sick and are unable to drink 4 glasses of water at the beginning may commence by taking little water and gradually increase it to 4 glasses per day.
Initially you may find the necessity to urinate 2 - 3 times within an hour, but it will become normal after quite some time.

v Don’t lie down to rest after drinking water.
Do light exercise and also concentrate your mind on the navel. Bowels will be
cleared.
v Only after 20 minutes of
drinking water, you can do regular exercises, walking or yoga. Of course, as
every one knows, rigorous exercise will keep the body fit. Here it is very
essential to note that nothing else, neither drinks nor solid food of any sort
should be taken within 1 hr. before and after drinking these 1.5 liters of
water.
v In general, any time,
after 20 minutes of drinking water, you are allowed to eat foodstuff. Water
will be digested within 15 minutes after drinking.
v Always drink 2 to 3
glasses of water, half an hour before meal. This maintains proper water content
in your body.
v Avoid drinking water
during meals and just after meals, except small quantities, depending on
necessity. Many people drink more and more water along with meal, with an
assumption that will help digestion. Water will unnecessarily dilute the
digestive fluids, and actually hinders the digestion. It delays the digestion
process and increases gas formation. Also, the added excess water stays in the
stomach along with food as long as food is there and hence stretches the
intestines unnecessarily.
v Drink compulsorily 2
glasses of water, only after 1.5 to 2 hours of meals. This helps to carry the
digested food to the blood faster.
v After 15 minutes of breakfast, lunch or dinner,
stop eating or drinking anything for one and half to two hours to allow the digestive system
to work properly.
v Rule of nature is, eating one part of solid
needs drinking of three parts of water. This is beneficial for your body.
Please note, God has taken care to create foods that contain three-fourth of
water. For example, fruits, vegetables, edible green leaves etc., contain 70 to
80 % of water.
v Between breakfast & lunch or lunch & night meal, drinking half a litre to three fourth of a litre of
water, spread over the period in multiple sips, is beneficial.
v Avoid drinking too much
water just before going to bed and also in the middle of the night. Otherwise
sleep will be disturbed and also sometimes there is a tendency to catch common
cold.
