WATERMELON SEEDS ARE HIGHLY BENEFICIAL HEALTH FOOD -
A video demonstration
of utilization in cooking is attached
Watermelon (Puchcha kaya) is everyone’s favorite
summer treat, coolest thirst quencher and a great energy booster. Even watermelon
seeds are excellent health food, but normally we throw them out as a waste. These seeds are edible and are a rich source of nutrients and minerals.
Don’t discard them now onwards. They can be eaten raw along with the fruit
safely. But due to their hard outer covering, they should be chewed before
swallowing to get their nutritional content. So, the best method is to collect
the seeds, wash in water and dry in sun and preserve. Take them out whenever you
want for cooking.
MULTIPLE BENEFITS:
Your body requires amino acids, but the body
cannot produce some essential amino acids on its own. Watermelon seeds contain
some of those essential amino acids.
These seeds are good sources of magnesium. They are excellent sources of multivitamin B and can replace
some of the supplements. They are high in protein. They are an important source
of calories and energy. Sun dried watermelon seeds contain iron & potassium. Roasted watermelon seeds contain
copper which is involved in the production of melanin, which is a pigment that
provides color to your hair and skin.
Watermelon seeds are good for
heart, blood, blood pressure, skin, hair, nails & sexual health. They help
in calcium absorption, improve the body’s metabolism, cardiovascular system,
nervous system, effective immune response, male fertility and protein synthesis. They are useful for treating diabetes, for recovering health after illness, for sharpening
memory and to maintain long and strong nails.
Watermelon seed oil, due to its
excellent moisturizing properties, is used as an essential ingredient in baby
oils. The oil is useful for keeping skin healthy & glowing and for making
hair healthy & shiny. It provides moisturizing benefits and improves hair growth,
prevents signs of ageing by making skin look younger, healthier and more vibrant.
These benefits can be enjoyed by
consuming a handful or two of watermelon seeds a week.
