Therefore biological system has diurnal varation depending on the cycle of the sun. Early risers get more f the son's varying energy supply and the biological system makes better use of it. Late sleepers spent too much time in artificial light, the optical spectrum of which is different from that of sunlight. Some modern innovations such as LED's have consirderable light in the harmful region of the light spectrum. Hence early to bed and early o rise effectively avoids this harmful effect.
